Aparian has released the ControlNet Fiber Repeater module (A-CFR) allowing an existing ControlNet network to be extended up to 3km (1.86 miles) using standard industrial multi-mode fiber. This module can be used as a replacement for the soon-to-be discontinued combination of the 1786-RPA and 1786-RPFM.
The ControlNet Router module (A-CNR) has also been recently updated with a new “Bridge Mode” allowing ControlNet IO to be added under the A-CNR in Studio 5000 using the new A-CNR Add-on Profile (AOP).
Here are some features of this update:
- Up to 30 Scheduled ControlNet connections can be established.
- ControlNet IO racks can use Rack Optimization in the connections.
- Parameterize ControlNet devices (e.g., PowerFlex Driver) in Studio 5000 via the A-CNR.
- Dynamic ControlNet scheduling is supported, which means the user does not have to Schedule the ControlNet network when adding ControlNet devices
- Supports Logix Controller Redundancy, using the A-CNR AOP, up to Logix v34.
- Supports Legacy ControlNet IO in the Logix IO tree under the A-CNR (e.g., 1771-ACNR15, PLC5 ControlNet adapter).
