i90 Scanner - Emulation Mode Support
The i90 Scanner now supports Emulation mode, where a limited number of IO modules can be emulated by the i90 Scanner. This mode allows the transfer of digital and analog data between the Bailey® CPU and the Logix controller. The following IO can be emulated by the i90 Scanner:
- 8 x IMDSI02/NDSI02 – 16 Channel Digital Input
- 8 x IMDSO04/NDSO04 – 16 Channel Digital Output
- 1 x IMASI02/NASI02 – 15 Channel Analog Input
- 1 x IMASO01/NASO01 – 14 Channel Analog Output
ControlNet Updates
Aparian has released the ControlNet Fiber Repeater module (A-CFR) allowing an existing ControlNet network to be extended up to 3km (1.86 miles) using standard industrial multi-mode fiber. This module can be used as a replacement for the soon-to-be discontinued combination of the 1786-RPA and 1786-RPFM.
The ControlNet Router module (A-CNR) has also been recently updated with a new “Bridge Mode” allowing ControlNet IO to be added under the A-CNR in Studio 5000 using the new A-CNR Add-on Profile (AOP).
Here are some features of this update:
- Up to 30 Scheduled ControlNet connections can be established.
- ControlNet IO racks can use Rack Optimization in the connections.
- Parameterize ControlNet devices (e.g., PowerFlex Driver) in Studio 5000 via the A-CNR.
- Dynamic ControlNet scheduling is supported, which means the user does not have to Schedule the ControlNet network when adding ControlNet devices
- Supports Logix Controller Redundancy, using the A-CNR AOP, up to Logix v34.
- Supports Legacy ControlNet IO in the Logix IO tree under the A-CNR (e.g., 1771-ACNR15, PLC5 ControlNet adapter).
Modbus Router/B - Supports Split (Dual IP) mode for Ethernet ports
The updated Aparian Modbus Router/B (MBR/B) now supports Split (Dual IP) mode for the module's dual Ethernet ports. In this mode the embedded switch functionality is disabled, allowing the user to connect two separate Ethernet networks without routing traffic from the one Ethernet network to another (i.e., traffic from Ethernet Port 1 cannot be forwarded to Ethernet Port 2 and vice versa).
The Split (Dual IP) mode also supports assigning separate network parameters (IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway) to each of the Ethernet ports. The MBR/B can then communicate with two Ethernet networks on different subnets.
Time Sync Module - Support for MicroLogix 1400 and Micro 800 Controllers
The Time Sync Module (A-TSM) has been updated to support time synchronization for the MicroLogix 1400 and Micro800 controller range. The A-TSM will also now allow up to 10 Remote Devices (e.g., legacy SLC controller, MicroLogix controller, Modbus TCP device, etc.) to be synchronized simultaneously.
